Redesigned Frame
We took a frame already reowned for its long-distance ride ability and short distance agility and redesigned it. The new frame has 50% fewer parts and 60 % fewer welds, providing rigidity and more cargo capacity.
Front Forks and Rear Shocks
Feel more connected to the road with the upgraded suspension that was retuned in concert with tyres, wheels and chassis. With a stronger connection to the road, the big-boned frame feels light and nimble out on a curvy stretch of highway.
New Cast Aluminium Wheels with Dunlop Tyres
New black cast aluminum wheels, a larger 17 inch front wheel, and a 180mm rear tyre are all new for 2009. The 17 inch front wheel reduces the aspect ratio of the tyre and gives the ride a firm feeling.
Redesigned Isolated Drive System
The redesigned Isolated Drive System makes acceleration smooth and steady, from your wrist down to the pavement. The design now integrates the rear wheel compensator into the rear wheel hub for a cleaner look.
Rubber-mounted, 1584cc Twin Cam 96 Engine
You get smoother torque from this rubber-mounted, 1584cc Twin Cam 96 Engine. After three decades of stopping the vibrations of the Big Twin from getting to the rider, our traditional 3-point rubber engine isolation system goes to a 4-point system for 2009, optimizing the balance between stiffness and isolation.
New 2-1-2 Exhaust System
The new chrome 2-1-2 exhaust system that passes under the frame instead of under the seat cleverly redirects heat away from the rider and passenger.
